How we help

Play is how children tell us what they cannot yet say.

Every plan blends child-centred play therapy with practical, evidence-based tools from CBT and parent coaching. Children get a safe place to be themselves; parents get a clear plan for home.

Play & art

Sand trays, puppets, drawing and building. Through play, kids work through feelings at their own pace.

Brave skills

Child-friendly CBT: naming worries, calming the body, and taking small brave steps, with lots of praise.

Parent partnership

Regular parent sessions with scripts, routines and a calm plan for tricky moments. You are the expert on your child.

Ages & worries

Support that grows with your child.

7 to 12

years old

A mix of play, art and simple CBT skills, with regular parent check-ins and, with your consent, links with school.

The first visit

Parents first, then a gentle hello.

Step 1

Free 15-min call

You tell me what is going on; I explain how I work and whether I am a good fit.

Step 2

Parent intake, 60 min

Adults only. Your child's story, development, school and family, so your child does not have to repeat it all.

Step 3

Child's first visit, 45 min

Mostly play. We get to know each other, explore the room and agree on what feels okay.

Step 4

Feedback & plan

A parent meeting where I share what I noticed and we agree goals, rhythm and next steps.

Hi, I am Hannah

Meet Hannah

Calm, curious, and very good at sand trays.

I have spent sixteen years working with children: first on a hospital paediatric psychology team, then in a school district mental health service, and since 2017 here at Little Lantern.

I am a mum of two, a terrible but enthusiastic gardener, and I believe there is no such thing as a bad kid, only a kid who has not been understood yet.

Questions

Things parents often ask.

Keep it simple and honest: "Hannah is a feelings doctor. Lots of kids visit her to play, talk and learn ways to make worries smaller." I send a short picture-book style welcome sheet before the first visit so your child can see the room and my face.
